Connecting to Your Wisest Guides

A 21-day immersion in ancestral relationship — meeting the wise, well ancestral elders who are ready to claim you.

These wise Ancestral Elders want to be in relationship with you, ready to guide and support you in breaking the cycles of the past, so you can fully live your purpose.

Belonging is our deepest ground

Ground is the relational field through which we come to know who we are, where we belong, and how to orient ourselves in the world.

It is the foundation our lives are built on.

Our bloodline family is one of the first places this Ground is formed. Long before we choose a spiritual path, a profession, or even the stories we tell about ourselves, we arrive through a people. That relationship helps shape our earliest sense of identity and belonging.

For many of us, modern life has weakened or distorted this foundation. We may know how to function in the world while feeling much less certain of who we are within it, where we belong, or what we are in relationship with.

Reconnecting with our wise Ancestral Elders restores one of the oldest strands of this Ground.

Why This Season

This immersion only takes place during the ancestral season, as the year turns toward darkness and attention begins to gather inward.

Over the 21 days, we will move through three thresholds:

  • October 31 — Samhain. A night for honoring the dead you already know.

  • November 6 — the astronomical cross-quarter. The midpoint between the autumn equinox and winter solstice, and the night of our live guided journey to meet an Ancestral Elder.

  • November 9 — the Scorpio new moon. A threshold for your first asking and the beginning of a more direct relationship.

The timing gives the work a natural container. We are learning these practices during a season when people across many generations have turned toward the dead, the ancestors, and the mysteries that gather in the dark half of the year.

Imagine having someone at your back

A wise elder who sees you clearly, knows something of the road behind you, and has the steadiness to stand with you as you find your own way forward.

Most of us were never taught that this kind of ancestral relationship is available to us. We may know our ancestors through family stories, photographs, genealogy, or the burdens that have travelled through the generations, without ever having learned how to be in relationship with the wise and well among them.

Your Ancestral Elders do not belong only to the past. They are part of the living field of relationship you already exist within.

Over these 21 days, you will begin turning toward that relationship through simple, careful practices: tending an altar, making offerings, learning how to listen, and eventually meeting an Ancestral Elder who can stand at your back.

How it works

This immersion is designed to fit inside a full life, with a rhythm that gives you time to absorb what you are learning and actually practice it.

  • Four live calls, all on Fridays — October 23, October 30, November 6, and November 13. Each call will be recorded and available within 48 hours if you cannot attend live.

  • Short daily audios, Monday through Thursday — usually 5–10 minutes. Each one introduces a small piece of the work and gives you something simple to practice that day.

  • Weekends are left open for practice so you have space to tend your altar, work with what has been introduced, and let the teachings settle.

  • One central guided journey to meet your Ancestral Elder. I will guide you through the process step by step, with care around safety, discernment, and returning fully at the end.

The emphasis throughout the immersion is on experience. You will learn what you need to understand the work, and then you will be given a clear way to begin practicing it for yourself.

By the end of 21 days, you’ll have

  • An altar you have built and tended as a living place of relationship.

  • A protector you know how to call on before entering ancestral work.

  • A relationship with one wise, well Ancestral Elder whom you have met through a guided journey and begun to know in your own way.

  • Experience asking and listening, with practices that help you discern what you are sensing.

  • A simple rhythm of ancestral tending that can live inside your actual life and continue beyond the immersion.

This is enough to begin a real relationship. You will leave knowing how to continue tending it in a way that is steady, respectful, and your own.

Our wisest ancestors can recognize us from within our own lineage

There is a particular kind of belonging that comes from being known by someone who stands behind you in the long line of your people.

When we come into relationship with wise, well Ancestral Elders, we begin to experience ourselves as part of something that extends far beyond our individual life. We are no longer relating to ancestry only as history, genetics, or the stories we inherited from our families. We begin to know ourselves as descendants — held within a lineage that reaches behind us and will continue beyond us.

That relationship restores an important strand of Ground. It gives us a place within our people, and from that place, a deeper sense of who we are.

Boundaries can only take us so far

If you are the person others come to — the one who sees clearly, holds complexity, and often carries more than your share — you probably already know what it feels like to end the day depleted.

Boundaries matter. So do rest, nourishment, movement, and the practices that help us regulate our nervous systems. But there is another layer underneath all of that.

Capacity is shaped by relationship.

When our lives are rooted in relationships that remind us who we are, where we belong, and what we are part of, we do not have to generate our entire sense of stability and direction alone. Ancestral relationship can become one strand of that Ground.

This immersion begins there: by tending a relationship that can help you feel less alone in the work of being human.

Who this is for

This immersion is for people who have already done some inner work and are beginning to feel the limits of doing that work only as an individual.

You may have a strong spiritual practice, years of therapeutic or somatic experience, or simply a growing sense that something is missing when healing remains focused only on the self.

Ancestral relationship offers another layer of belonging: the experience of locating yourself within a lineage and beginning to know yourself as someone who comes from somewhere.

This work is rooted in European ancestral traditions, while remaining open to people of mixed ancestry and to adoptees. You do not need to know your family history or the names of your ancestors in order to begin.

Curriculum

  • Week One — Ground, altar, protector

We begin by locating ourselves in the work.

You’ll learn the difference between ancestors and ghosts, what we mean by wise and well Ancestral Elders, and how to create a clear and protected space for spiritual relationship.

From there, you’ll begin building the outer forms that support the relationship: creating your altar, choosing a simple daily offering, and learning how to call on a protector before entering ancestral practice.

As Samhain approaches, you’ll also have space to consider how you want to mark the season in a way that feels meaningful and appropriate for you.

  • Week Two — Toward the bones

This week we deepen the relationship.

You’ll complete your altar and learn how to recognize the Ancestral Elder who is reaching toward you — the one whose presence feels clear, steady, and connected to your own lineage.

Then, in the live guided journey, I’ll lead you down into the place between the bones where the ancestral fires are lit, to meet a wise elder and begin the relationship directly.

The journey includes a full return and time to orient afterward, so that the experience is held carefully from beginning to end.

  • Week Three — Relationship and return

In the final week, you begin tending the relationship you have opened.

You’ll practice asking your Ancestral Elder a question and listening for what comes, while continuing to strengthen your discernment around what you are sensing.

We’ll explore offerings, reciprocity, grief, and gratitude as part of an ongoing ancestral relationship, and you’ll choose a simple way of tending that relationship after the immersion ends.

The aim is to leave with something you can actually continue: a practice small enough to belong to your life, and meaningful enough to keep returning to.

I’m Ro Marlen

I’ve spent thirty years helping people find healing, stability, and vitality, much of it learned through direct experience: working with my own Ancestral Elders, the spirits of the Land, the seasons and cycles, and one-on-one with thousands of clients while paying close attention to what actually helped.

Along the way, I’ve studied with respected curanderos, wisdom keepers, scholars, and teachers. What I bring to this work has been shaped just as deeply by decades of practice and lived relationship.

There is very little you could tell me about your spiritual experience that I would find strange. I’ve spent most of my life in relationship with the unseen, and decades accompanying other people through experiences that can be difficult to explain to someone who has never had them. You won’t need to convince me that what happened to you is worthy of being taken seriously.

What it can feel like to find your way back to lineage

“When I heard people speak about contacting their ancestors, I felt like it wasn't for me, since I have a lot of mental health issues in my lineage. It wasn't until I got in contact with Ro's teachings that I understood I have well ancestors I can connect with and be supported by. She reconnected me with my lineage in a way that felt safe and actually attainable.”

The Scope of this Immersion

This 21-day immersion is designed as a clear and complete beginning to ancestral relationship.

We will focus on meeting and beginning relationship with a wise, well Ancestral Elder, learning the foundations of safe practice, and developing a simple rhythm you can continue afterward.

Deeper bloodline healing, intergenerational trauma work, and practices involving unsettled dead belong to a later stage of the work and require more preparation and skill.

For now, the task is simpler: to open the relationship carefully, learn how to tend it, and give it enough time to become real.

Try the work first

If you want to experience the way I teach before joining the immersion, begin with the free class, Walking with the Ancestors.

It will give you a feel for the work, the way I approach ancestral relationship, and whether this is something you want to continue exploring.

About Payment Plans

I believe healing should be held in a way that honors each person’s capacity. That’s why I don’t charge extra for payment plans—because I know that ease looks different for everyone, and we all walk with varying rhythms and resources. If you’re able to pay in full, please know that it directly supports my work as an independent guide and helps make this path more accessible for others. It’s a quiet act of reciprocity that ripples outward.

And if you need a different pace or a longer payment plan, just reach out. I’m always open to finding a way that feels doable and dignified for you.
